Rudzati St. James Roman Catholic Church
The construction of the Rudzati parish church was started in 1911, and the construction was completed in 1913. Materials and funds for the construction of the church were given by count Pläters-Zibergs. Timber from the demolished wooden church in Stirniene was also taken to Rudzati. The manager of the church's construction works and the organizer of all matters was a person authorized by the count - the manager of the Rudzati half-manor, Schwering. In 1913, the new church was consecrated by V. Tomasuns, dean of Varaklani. It was dedicated to honor St. Charles Borromeo. Rudzatu church is a 21 m long and 10 m wide building with a tin roof. It is a one-nave room with a tiled floor. The height of the church tower is 15 m. The entrance doors to the church are from the end, the side and the sacristy. There are three altars in the church. In the main altar there is a painting "Virgin Mary gives rosary to St. Dominic", it is a drop-down painting. Behind it is the statue of the Heart of St. Jesus, but on the upper part of the altar is St. painting by Karl Borromeo. Behind the communion table on the left is the altar of Our Lady of Aglona, and on the right is the altar with painting of St. John the Baptist, it was transferred from the church of Eleonorviles. Rudzati congregation was founded in 1915. At first it was Eleonorviles - Rudzātu congregation, but later, in 1919, it got the name of Rudzatu congregation, and Eleonorvile became part of the congregation as a branch church. The congregation of Rudzati was created by separating individual farms and homesteads from the congregation of Stirniene, Preili and Livani.
