Livani Orthodox Church of All Saints

The foundation stone for the church building was laid in September 1937. The construction of the church was completed in 1939, built at the expense of the faithful. During the Second World War, the building was heavily damaged, but the dome was demolished in the 1960s. During the Soviet era, the building was without an owner, it was used by both the gas company and the consumer association as storage facilities.
When Latvia regained its independence (in 1992), the church was given to the Livani Orthodox congregation and, together with its clergyman Father Mihails, the congregation collected the necessary funds for the restoration of the church. The dome was restored with the original pre-war church cross preserved.
